Happy New Year!! So it finally begins...My only full calender year here in Mexico. I still have plenty of time to enjoy life here in CDMX, but it still feels so limited. Also..I DON'T HAVE CHANGES!!! Six more weeks in wonderful Pantitlan, my first area here on the mission. I was kind of dreading the possibility of moving to another area but before we got transfer calls on Saturday night, I finally accepted it. It would hard, but worth it and I would learn alot. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised with wonderful news that I'm staying! I told some members and investigators during the week it was a possibility I could have changes and I got a lot of dinner invitations and a scarf just in case I left. That's why I love it here. I feel so loved. Although, I'm a little sad because Elder Hernandez from Monterrey is leaving the ward. He's been with me for my entire mission and I've learned a lot from him. He's a great friend.
Well, our New Year's celebration was pretty awesome. We had to be in by 9:30, but we had permission to watch Disney movies until 12 to ring in the new year!!! Before we had to be in, we went to an investigator's house and had ice cream and watched a movie with them. After going home we watched Mulan (probably my favorite Disney movie of all time) until midnight. IT WAS GLORIOUS!! The next day was a bit slow because no one was out at all. We had one cita in the morning with a less active family where they fed us romeritos again. REVENGE OF THE ROMERITOS!!!!! Yep, this terrible holiday delicasy came back to haunt my dreams and destroy my digestive system. They gave us even more than last time and it seemed a lot worse in the morning. Well, eating romeritos and having no citas was fun and all, but after lunch we got a text from the Zone Leaders telling us we had to go back inside. I guess the people weren't ready to stop partying or something. It was okay, we just had to make the sacrifice and return home watching some more movies. We went to the mall and SAMS CLUB today!! We went to Sam's and just kind of looked through the door because we didn't have a Sams card, then a lady waved us over said she was a member and that we could use her card! I didn't buy tooo much, but a lot of cereal, granola bars and sams muffins!! I also bought some stuff at the mall as a christmas present. I felt like I spent a lot, but did the math and it turns out it was like 60 bucks. Crazy how that works here in Mexico! So it's finally 2016 and I'm not leaving Pantitlan. I made a lot of resolutions and goals to be better this year. I want to speak spanish well, teach better, serve more, learn a lot and enjoy every moment I have as a respresentative of Jesus Christ. I want a year full of progress and love and I hope I accomplish just that by fulfilling the goals I've set. I also challenge all of you to set your own goals! Go crazy, reach high, everything's possible it's 2016!!!! Paz, Amor y Bendiciones, Elder Foust
